Indomie's in-store "Win Airtime" promotion

Indomie wanted to reward people buying whole cartons of noodles, capture who they were, and learn how they liked to cook — through retail outlets across the country, with no smartphone required.

The challenge

Cartons of Indomie Onion Chicken noodles sell through thousands of retail outlets, and the brand had no direct line to the people buying them — no demographic data and no way to ask a simple question about how they cook.

The solution

Chekkit reward cards were placed inside 5,000 cartons sold through popular retail outlets nationwide. To claim the reward, a consumer verified the carton by entering the PIN on the card over USSD — then answered a two-question survey on their noodle preferences before the airtime landed.

The results

Over four months, more than 3,000 products were verified and over ₦1 million in airtime was shared. The real prize was the survey data: consumer preference and demographic data gathered and analysed at the point of purchase, which Poke Global used to enrich the promotion.

“Using Chekkit, we were able to mine for actionable consumer data, which helped us enrich our client's (Indomie) airtime reward promotion.”
